Sweet sentiment baby, your hand in mine is making mine spiny How elegantly I can hear your song and it says ‘spears up baby’! A holy communion, an adjunct reunion Keeping it for name’s sake.. Rack it up lady, (stacks it up shadily) Oh rely on no one, become an agent of secret things But I can tell that you’re an agent for no one else but yourself A holy communion, an adjunct reunion Keeping for name’s sake Rack it up lady, (stacks it up shadily) And I can’t tell that this That this is oh, oh Is just as sweet as sentiments can be A holy communion?

Born Again 03:35
Oh be beyond the twilight, don’t you think that you’re leaving! Oh be behind the law, don’t you think that you’re breathing! Well I was born for you, you were born for me This is just the way it was meant to be I am not alone, you are here with me This is just the way, it was meant to be This is not my steeple This is not my tree You are meant to be here, rightly here with me All the time I’m waiting for you to be with me I am not alone for God is here with me Oh the light is waiting for Oh the light is waiting for Be born, be born, be born again Be born, be born, be born again Be beyond the twilight, oh don’t you think that you’re breathing! Be behind the law, oh don’t you think that you’re leaving! This is not my steeple This is not my tree You are meant to be here, rightly here with me All the time I’m waiting for you to be with me I am not alone for God is here with me Oh the light is waiting for Oh the light is waiting for love Love! Be born, be born, be born again Be born, be born, be born again love…

Golden Heart 02:39
Gold as heart is tame and wild Is only once entrusted with a memento of the tribe Like water flows, meanders through the land The flowers grow, the water flows The flowers grow, the water flows And I will go away, like they have gone away And I will go away, like they have gone away And I will go away, like they have gone away Like the sun a beaming across your crown Draw it out There it is, be proud Like thunder strikes the news hit him in the chest And flowers grow the water flows And time is gold as heart is tame and wild….

I was running, I was hiding Out with face in my hands and my feet and the sounds that came out And became.. The same as my eyes and I cried and the colours that changes that I saw Was it a brain a pain or an eyesore? I was not sure Was my brain the same it was before? Now it seems that your screaming has become such a bore So I ran to the mountains, I’ve got bouncing boots on And if I jump I can see the tops of the trees And little people on the ground like ants crawling round If I jump even further I can extend my leg-leavers, I’ll be big! So I plod across the earth and sky And lay down my turf and kick up the dirt What if I kick off my boots, and become footloose? There’s a string attached to the earth that I hold on to And so I float into the atmosphere, but I’m still here…

Heaven is right, there is a God With horns and bones in his teeth Here is the truth, he leaps out at you With a rose in his teeth, a lightness in his feet And that’s not all I would break your fall I would fell the trees that swing in your breeze Uh oh, God you’re not my buddy but can you handle this, I’d hand you to the devil before I took your kiss Oh God, you’re not my honey how we can we compete, you’d capture all my money, you can paralyse my feet Oh God, you’re not my honey how we can we handle this, I’d hand you to the devil before I took your kiss Oh God, you’re not my honey how we can we compete, you’d capture all my money, you can paralyse my feet And that’s not all I would break your fall I would fell the trees that swing in your breeze Heaven is right, there is a God With horns and bones in his teeth Uh oh, God you’re not my buddy but can we handle this, I’d hand you to the devil before I took your kiss Oh God, you’re not my honey how we can we compete, you’d capture all my money, you can paralyse my feet Oh God, you’re not my honey but can we compete? You’d capture all my money, you can paralyse my feet Oh God, you’re not my honey how can you handle this? I’d hand you to the devil before I took your kiss!!! Oh be so grateful!

Iron Shoes 03:39
If ever the twain they should meet I have wandered across the land and sea In search of you worn out three pairs of iron shoes If ever our paths they did meet They were always a few feet away No serendipitous occasion please Always at a loss to each other There is house on top of a hill And it makes me cry to look at it You were folded in a coat of thorns When I found you I unpicked your curled hands and nails A harmonic tempera A disturbed emperor There is house on top of a hill And it makes me cry to look at it I’ve wandered across the land and sea In search of you, worn out three pairs of iron shoes A harmonic tempera A disturbed emperor This town ain’t big enough for the both of us This town ain’t big enough for the both of us If ever the twain they should meet I’ve wandered across the land and sea In search of you worn out three pairs of iron shoes

And all the freckled agencies And all the coloured theories awaiting If ever it was just the end and nothing was waiting around the bend I would hold you. And nothing was a-waiting or abating Or tracing the lines with your fingers And nothing was elating or articulating The time that you lingered And tracing is a luxury past time That you would wait for And all of those memories in thickened blackened brackened trees are dancing And all of those memories in thickened blackened brackened trees are dancing In front of my eyes, in front of my eyes That you would wait for That you would wait for

Once I was young I could feel the taste of my son on my lips I was a rose, I struck a pose for you I rode on your back, with you And every move that you make is added to the mountain that you climb And every move that you make is added to the mountain that you climb Enough of this! It’s alright for me to begin to believe that it’s all to conceive of Enough of this, it’s a normal to begin to believe that you can be normal again Work it out of this there baby, you know it completes a piece of the tapestry that she laid down- the plans that all went to her head I would dance after dark, with my tongue in the park, my hair in a lark for you Now I’m so tall I can see it all, you look so small to me, and after all... Rampaging teardrops trickle off my hand and into the land There are holes in the sky where the rains gets in, the holes are small that’s why rain is thin But she said this is a dialogue?! But what does it look like? Does it know it’s own head? Grab me baby, hold on to your words They are your own, though they may seem to dwindle and fade away… Now I’m so tall, you look so small to me But you are mine, given the time that’s gone by And after all Rampaging teardrops trickle off my hand and into the land There are holes in the sky where the rains gets in, the holes are small that’s why rain is thin

about

I wrote and recorded this album as I was falling ill with lyme, so this album was written in that context, I was losing my life as I knew it- and I was also working with incredibly talented musicians, was excited about the future, but also could feel that things weren't going to turn out as I would have hoped. There are lots of themes in this album. One is finding peace or giving space to the full gamut of emotions we humans feel, light and dark, peace and turbulence, love and hate...and the paradox of malignant love in songs such as The Good Shepherd, Born Again or Black Eyed Soup. Despite going through difficult times, music has always been an outlet to alchemize and give expression to the legitimacy of my feelings and I hope by my doing this, others can identify and feel that permission too
