about

This song was a daydream that came out in song, about feeling untethered to the earth, but somehow still connected so strongly...the feeling of wanting to float away...maybe having a spirit, but ultimately being reconciled, somewhat reluctantly to being here and the turbulence we have to put up with down here..

lyrics

I was running, I was hiding
Out with face in my hands and my feet and the sounds that came out
And became..

The same as my eyes and I cried and the colours that changes that I saw
Was it a brain a pain or an eyesore?
I was not sure
Was my brain the same it was before?
Now it seems that your screaming has become such a bore

So I ran to the mountains, I’ve got bouncing boots on
And if I jump I can see the tops of the trees
And little people on the ground like ants crawling round
If I jump even further I can extend my leg-leavers, I’ll be big!

So I plod across the earth and sky
And lay down my turf and kick up the dirt
What if I kick off my boots, and become footloose?

There’s a string attached to the earth that I hold on to
And so I float into the atmosphere, but I’m still here…
