Heaven is right, there is a God- with horns and bones in his teeth!!! This is a song about an old testament God, a God of vengeance, an evil God like a huge evil giant ready to eat and crunch up humans for his own pleasure. This is a version of an extreme old testament God that my mind conjured up for years- and this God has been given a voice in this song. By singing him out into the universe, perhaps I am freeing myself of these unhelpful out dated thoughts about God.
lyrics
Heaven is right, there is a God
With horns and bones in his teeth
Here is the truth, he leaps out at you
With a rose in his teeth, a lightness in his feet
And that’s not all I would break your fall
I would fell the trees that swing in your breeze
Uh oh, God you’re not my buddy but can you handle this, I’d hand you to the devil before I took your kiss
Oh God, you’re not my honey how we can we compete, you’d capture all my money, you can paralyse my feet
Oh God, you’re not my honey how we can we handle this, I’d hand you to the devil before I took your kiss
Oh God, you’re not my honey how we can we compete, you’d capture all my money, you can paralyse my feet
And that’s not all I would break your fall
I would fell the trees that swing in your breeze
Heaven is right, there is a God
With horns and bones in his teeth
Uh oh, God you’re not my buddy but can we handle this, I’d hand you to the devil before I took your kiss
Oh God, you’re not my honey how we can we compete, you’d capture all my money, you can paralyse my feet
Oh God, you’re not my honey but can we compete? You’d capture all my money, you can paralyse my feet
Oh God, you’re not my honey how can you handle this? I’d hand you to the devil before I took your kiss!!!
Oh be so grateful!
