about

This song was inspired by witnessing a scene of extremely public domestic violence in China. I tried to intervene, the perpetrator returned with a knife, so the woman I had tried to back fled back to him out of fear he would attack those trying to protect her.

Distraught and full of anger, contemplating domestic violence and abuse, and my own negative experiences, I wrote this defiant song about malignant love with a sense of the righteous and valid anger that we women can and must have to seek justice

lyrics

Sweet sentiment baby, your hand in mine is making mine spiny
How elegantly I can hear your song and it says ‘spears up baby’!

A holy communion, an adjunct reunion
Keeping it for name’s sake..

Rack it up lady, (stacks it up shadily)

Oh rely on no one, become an agent of secret things
But I can tell that you’re an agent for no one else but yourself

A holy communion, an adjunct reunion
Keeping for name’s sake

Rack it up lady, (stacks it up shadily)

And I can’t tell that this
That this is oh, oh
Is just as sweet as sentiments can be

A holy communion?
